Information about PPE to Professional Health Workers

LaPAM and collaborators have launched the EPISaúde Initiative.

The digital platform is aimed at providing information to professional health workers in the correct use, maintenance and disposal of personal protective equipment.  Since April 16th, it has been accessed by more than 150 thousand people from all corners of Brazil.

The information is provided in the form of texts, videos and infographics. Professional health workers can also participate in our research about PPE use by answering a questionnaire.

Development of an animal model of SARS-CoV-2

LaPAM worked on the development of an animal model of SARS-CoV-2 to serve Brazilian researchers in their studies of vaccine, treatment and pathogenesis of COVID-19. This work is funded by São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP, 2020/07251-2).

The model was established in December 2020 and is now being used to test therapeutics and vaccines against SARS-CoV-2 in collaboration with Butantan Institute, Purdue University and many others.

Few of these projects were depicted in major news outlet in Brazil: Globo channel , at Agência FAPESP de Notícias, and at ICB, USP.
